StayConnected: do not try to fingerprint browser if fingerprint check is disabled
In the StayConnected plugin, if fingerprint checking is disabled, then StayConnected should not bother to fingerprint the browser. In other words, StayConnected should skip the redirect to /registerbrowser
, since it is not going to check/use the fingerprint results anyway.
Aside from avoiding extra requests and redirects, on our site(s) we have discovered that the fingerprint2.js script is blocked by default by uBlock Origin --- this causes users to get stuck at the "Please Wait" message of /registerbrowser
. We tried to disable the fingerprint check (which we do not want anyway), and the behavior did not change ...because StayConnected is still trying to collect that fingerprint that it does not need.
