"Underlying object can't load conf" is a bad error message
We need to find a better way to report errors than "Underlying object can't load conf", because countless hours are being spent by new users trying to understand what's going on.
When such a fatal condition happens, we should provide the actual error message (maybe stored somewhere else?), or at least show users a clear instruction that they must look at previous error messages.
